First of Five Reasons to be Optimistic about the Bears
I am sitting here staring at my Bears NFC and Super Bowl Championship tickets I picked up from Las Vegas last summer. OK, so maybe I am a little biased, but I really had high expectations.
For the next several days, I am going to give you five reasons to be optimistic and five reasons to be pesimistic towards the Bears next season. Here is the first installment of my optimistic outlook…
The Return of Brian Urlacher
Losing Brian Urlacher in the first half of the first game did not really set a positive tone for the season. Next season, the beloved Bears will have a healthy HOF middle linebacker. None of the others that filled in even could hold a candle to the type of player he is both as a tackler and a cover linebacker. While he certainly is not the player he was five years ago, he is still one of the best players in football and the leader of the defense. Additionally, the other linebackers that played in his absence gained valuable experience. Pisa Tinoisamoa’s return (hopefully) will also be a huge help.
