I agree with Derek.. as much as Lovie's boneheaded challenges irk me, the man got a team that shouldnt have made the playoffs into the NFC championship. He also got a Rex led team to the SB. I wouldnt consider losing to Peyton Manning and the Colts a choke. They over-achieved that year.. and did you forget about them handling the Panthers and Saints that year? Was the NFC title that year a choke?

He's made some dumb moves and dumb calls, but short of the Pats/Pack/Steelers youd be hard pressed to find a staff that is significantly better.

Thank you for educating me on football. I really appreciate it. Doesn't the head coach have final say over depth charts? Doesn't the head coach know how to actually use a time out and a challenge? Come on man...

I get so tired of Bears fans that constantly hate on the coaching staff and front office. Do you realize that our staff is probably top 5 in the NFL - despite every analyst liberally pointing out how bad we will be each year, we find ways to be successful - that is the essence of good coaching.

Do you even understand NFL QB rules? When a third string QB enters a game prior to the fourth quarter, the first and second string QBs are ruled ineligible. If Hanie took a snap prior to the medical staff confirming Cutler was out, Cutler would have been unable to re-enter the game.

You could make a point that Hanie should have been the 2nd string QB, but understand that Martz is responsible for that - then take note that the Bears were the #2 offense in the NFL last year from 4/5 WR sets. Regardless of whether or not you like Martz - his offense is here. Our biggest failure was in pro-form sets, which is probably why Olsen is gone (he was worthless even before Martz came here) - Spaeth should provide the blocking needed from these sets, and I assume we should here in the next day or so some news about the one or two new offensive lineman that we are adding.

I am a Bears fan that can fully appreciate our approach towards stockpiling players. We spend our money wisely, identify good value, and we can let other teams sabotage their success by offering $24M to Olsen, $40+M for Sidney Rice, and $50M for Holmes.

I've forgotten more football than you know. I'm a season ticket holder and even coached football. Your knowledge comes from beating little kids at Madden.
